VISION AND PHILOSOPHY

To be human, is to be spiritual. Each of us, as part of an ongoing evolutionary process is imbued with spirit. At our most awake moments, we sense we are part of something larger, a meaningful whole, an energy that draws us. We may find encouragement, support and nourishment within a particular faith tradition and yet have a growing sense that there is something more. That longing for something more may be an invitation to awaken more fully into mystery and to engage with that mystery in ever deeper ways. This mystery is present everywhere and always, in us, in all of creation. Many persons find themselves most awake to a kind of spirit presence in nature, a lovely morning sun, stars in the night sky, the greening that takes place in springtime, the smile of a small baby. Sometimes a song, a poem, a painting, touches that responsive place, drawing us beyond ourselves to a universal Oneness, sometimes experienced as a presence.
